The primary mission of the DATA (Department of Advanced Technology and Applications) is to oversee all technical operations, system administration, network management, and end-user support for Geauga County. Its focus is to deliver robust, scalable, and efficient technology solutions that prioritize availability and user-friendliness.
The system support team handles the day-to-day operation in the data center such as system maintenance, back-ups, and batch processing for approximately forty different county agencies. The Department of Advanced Technology and Applications administers and supports local area networks (LAN). Last, the system support team manages and supports a service desk for all computer related problems. The services provided by the the Department of Advanced Technology and Applications provide data sharing and resource compatibility for centralizing county computing services.
The software development team is responsible for maintaining in-house software applications. The Department of Advanced Technology and Applications develops software customized to the needs of the end users. The software development team also advises and supports the purchase of software. In addition, the programmers develop and maintain web applications and web pages for the Geauga County websites.
